WORKING WITH ME
Work with Whitney
I am in network with several insurance companies and also offer self-pay options. Please contact me for further information.
** I am currently conducting all sessions via telehealth.

First Steps

  • Call me or email me at your convenience to schedule your appointment. You will receive an email link to complete intake forms via my secure client portal. If unable to complete these online forms, expect to devote the first 10 minutes of your session to completing paperwork.

  • If we are billing your insurance company, please bring your insurance card to your initial session.

  • You will receive an appointment confirmation 24 hours prior to your appointment via text or email, depending upon your stated preference.

  • Ten minutes prior to the start of your appointment, you will receive an email that contains a link to the video session.
What to Expect During Your First Session

  • Your first appointment will last 75-90 minutes.

  • I ask a lot of questions. Please be prepared to discuss the following:
    • medical history
    • eating habits
    • physical activity
    • dieting history
    • current medications and supplements
    • nutrition knowledge
    • cooking skills
    • perceived barriers
    • family/social environment.

  • If seeing me for disordered eating, please understand I will ask about mental health conditions, family dynamics, and if I need to be sensitive to past trauma. I will also strongly encourage you to connect with a therapist trained in eating disorder treatment. I can provide contact information for trusted providers if desired.

  • A 3-day food and beverage log is helpful, but ONLY if you can record your intake truthfully! I ask that you trust me when I say this – no judgments. A food log provides me with great insight into your current habits.

  • The first session is primarily information gathering. Evidence-based nutrition counseling is tailored to the individual, and it is a process that requires time. You will leave your intake with basic information applying to your primary area of concern, initial goals, and a clearly defined treatment plan.

  • Follow-up appointments run 30-60 minutes in length.
